  • Malifaux Executioner – assembled and based
  • Malifaux Hamelin – assembled and based
  • Warhammer Ogre Bulls x3 – complete
  • Warhammer Ogre Bruiser BSB – about 50% done
  • Warhammer Ogre Tyrant – about 50% done

I will try to get some pictures done in the next couple of days.

Malifaux – 30ss – Neverborn vs. Arcanists – Times Two!!
Sep 25th, 2009 by Totengraber

malifaux_logo I admit to being a bit lazy about updating this here blog over the last week or so. Joel and I played a game of Malifaux two Thursdays ago and then again this past Thursday. What follows are two battle reports; one for each gaming night. Read the rest of this entry »

Malifaux – 25 Soulstones – Resurrectionists vs. Arcanists
Sep 11th, 2009 by Totengraber

malifaux_logo Again, our group met up over at Gamerz on the south side of Indy for some Malifaux action. Joel and I suspected only he and I might show up since Brian’s family just gained a new member and Jim started a new shift where he works such that he wouldn’t be able to make it. Brian did end up showing up and Jim took a half day to come game with us. Brian and Joel played against each other and I played against Jim. I hadn’t yet played Jim since we started Malifaux, so this should prove interesting. Read the rest of this entry »

Star Wars CCG – Okay, just ooooone more game…
Sep 10th, 2009 by Totengraber

During Gen Con, Fred picked up the Second Edition Star Trek CCG game. Following his lead, I picked up a box as well. Then we split a booster box. Then I bought a bunch of the uber-cheap Star Wars CCG knock-off, WARS (I do actually like the game). After Gen Con was over, I started looking at the old Star Wars CCG from Decipher since some elements of the Star Trek game reminded me of it. Since then, I’ve talked Fred into playing a couple of times and I’ve acquired a bunch more cards to add to the collection and to eventually maybe give away in decks to people interested in the game.

Much like the Star Trek CCG, the Star Wars CCG has its own committee that creates new virtual cards to keep the game going. Recently, they posted a bunch of errata to their previously released virtual sets and have also released a new virtual set as well. A lot of people on their forums seem upset with the changes and some are even dropping out of the game altogether. Me, I figure I’m not yet ready to start using the virtual cards as I haven’t played the game since right after Death Star II was released and I haven’t bought cards for almost 9 years.

well, here’s to hoping I can get some more people interested in this “dead” game.

Space Hulk – Yep, I joined in!
Sep 10th, 2009 by Totengraber

In the month of August, the Game Preserve had been giving double points, so I’d gathered over 600 in that month combined with my unused points prior to it. That equals $60 worth of store credit.
Friday, I paid them a visit just for kicks. I didn’t have anything I needed at the store, but I do like to look around to see what’s new. The guy working that day tells me that Saturday Space Hulk would be released. He said they had 20-something reserved and another 15 to be sold separately. I told him to go ahead and make that 14 to put on the shelf. I figured that means I’d get a $100 board game for $45. Read the rest of this entry »

Star Wars Saga RPG – Starting over in a new era…
Sep 10th, 2009 by Totengraber

With the downfall of the previous Star Wars Saga Edition RPG Dawn of Defiance campaign, I decided to start over in a whole new era. It seemed like folks wanted to do some Jedi action, but were restricted by the time period DoD is set in (between Episode III and Episode IV). After having read the Tales of the Jedi comics, I decided this would be a great era to do a campaign in. There’s plenty of Jedi all around and plenty of dark side Jedi to fight against. Not to mention the Mandolorians who may show up as well. With the different paths Jedi can take, it seemed like the most logical course of action. Read the rest of this entry »

Malifaux – Game #3 – 35 soulstones – Neverborn vs. Arcanists
Sep 4th, 2009 by Totengraber

malifaux_logo Joel and I agreed to meet up at Gamerz and play a bit larger Malifaux game at 35 soulstones  rather than the “starter box” size of 25 or so soulstones. we also used Strategies and Schemes. Strategies are objectives both players are going fo as their main victory method. Joel flipped Reconnoiter (end game with a model in each of 4 quadrants) and I flipped Claim Jumper (have models touching a piece of terrain in the center of the board). Schemes are extra objectives that award a smaller victory point total. I decided on Bodyguard with Pandora as the target (make sure the model survives the encounter) and Eye for an Eye (end the game with one more model or equal models to the enemy). If you reveal a Scheme, it awards you extra victory points for completing it; I revealed Eye for an Eye. We flipped for deployment and got the one where we each deploy in opposite corners in an 8″ square. Read the rest of this entry »
