So, I had a lot of time this weekend and yesterday to get some stuff assembled or painted. Well, I decided to work on Warhammer 40K stauff instead of the Pulp City stuff I should have been working on. I got a 10-man Assault Squad, a 10-man Tactical Squad, a few Heavy/Special weapon models, Shrike, a Rhino and a Drop Pod assembled and primed. Unfortunately, on some of the marines I have the fuzzy primer thing going on. I will try getting a brush or something to try and clean it up, but it is very upsetting to put that much work into assembling figures to have that happen. I wonder if the trick for cloudy clear coat will work for primer (re-coating usually fixes it for me).

Bad week for gaming
06.12
On the heels of not being able to play D&D this week, Thursday’s gaming got messed up as well. I got a call from work at about 5:30pm last night, which ended up making me late for a Pulp City game I’d scheduled with Brian. I finally got done with my work, packed up my stuff and trudged out through the pouring rain to my car. I got about halfway there when I realized I’d left my Pulp City cards at home. The traffic was terrible, so I decided I wasn’t going to go back for them. I did end up at the store, so I just hung out and talked with Joel and Brian and then watched some Flames of War games.
Speaking of Flames of War, (more…)
Pulp City – Previews and news
05.21
Maciej posted some news and some preview images for some new minis coming out here. The top image is Dr. Tenebrous and the Necro G.I.s. The Necro G.I.s have some cool abilities whn paired up with the good Doc. In the teaser pics, I am not sure what all of them are, but I’m pretty positive one of them is Dr. Mercury, who is named for one of the guys I know on-line and who’s playtested a lot of the newer miniatures games.
Looks like some cool stuff is on the horizon. Now I just need to et caught up on the current releases (Rook, Francis Gator, Father Oak, Acorn, Trail and Blood Rose).
Lots of Gallery Updates
05.11
I finally finished lots of figures this week. Namely, from Pulp City: Six Feet Under, Mourn, Red Riding Hoodoo and Solar. This brings my “need to paint before Gen Con” list up to 50% done. Since I had the camera and lights out, I decided to take pics of some old Confrontation stuff, some WIP Space Marines and Lizardmen, and an almost-finished Apebot (just the base left!) that I started work on today.
Go check out the Gallery here.

Pulp City Level 8 Encounter on Small Board
11.05
After Brian and I played Pulp City a few times on a 4′ x 4′ board, we determined that we need to play on a smaller space (2′ x2′) since it took forever for the two teams to make contact. We also decided to give Agendas a try.
- Guerilla w/Ammo Feed & Tracker
- Hellsmith w/Hellhammer
- Chimp-Chi w/San-en Ninjaken
- Gentleman w/Sniper Rifle & Brace of Pistols
- Nuke w/Radioactive Substance
My list was:
- Iron Train w/High-Octane Fuel
- Androida w/Advanced Sentry Bot
- Ace of Wraiths w/Hellstromm and Hangman
- Red Riding Hoodoo w/Zombie Wolf
- Solar w/Ahau-Kin’s Tiara
We drew Agendas randomly and I ditched “Evil Ritual” since it is a Villains only Agenda. Brian ditched “Rob the Money” due to its complexity. Brian ended up with “We Must Eliminate This One” (Iron Train) and “Those Who Run Will Live to Fight Another Day!”. I had “The Chosen May Not Perish” (Red Riding Hoodoo) and “Defenders of the Innocent”.
The first problem we had with this small of a board was the lack of space to place the citizens where they weren’t just in a line in the center of the table. To complicate things, Chimp-Chi’s “Sneaky Git” ability allows him to deploy further in. We did end up getting the citizens properly placed and began the game. For most of the game, I won the starting roll each round and moved a number of citizens (usually 6!) as close as possible to my side of the board. Brian spent the first couple of activations killing citizens. Through use of the “Beacon of Hope” action, I was able to get most of the citizens to the edge of the board, though we weren’t sure if they were allowed to leave the board. That I can remember, there weren’t too many amazing moves made by either of us, but later in the game, he started winning the starting roll more regularly. In the end, I’d rescued 5 citizens and he’d killed 3. I also completed “The Chosen May Not Perish”, giving me a total of 2 Agenda Points. Brian did complete “We Must Eliminate This One”, but lost 3 Agenda points for “Those Who Run Will Live To Fight Another Day” as only Nuke had crossed the halfway line ending with a -1 score.
I really like this game. It’s a ton of fun. Brian and I are the only ones in the group to try it yet, so we usually just throw down when nothing else strikes our fancy.
Gaming: Spinespur On-Line Army Builder
12.06
I have been working on an on-line Spinespur Army Builder to help me learn more about making web applications and to help those who might play this game. I still have yet to play a game myself.
You can find the Spinespur Army Builder here.
Gaming: Spinespur Army Builder Updated Again

Just some minor cosmetic and functional changes. Download the newest version here.
Gaming: Spinespur Army Builder Updated
10.16
I updated the Spinespur Army Builder 1.5 to create card-like grids on a separate sheet for printing and using as cards during games rather than a roster sheet. Just a mod that I thought might be useful.
