Infinity – New stuff for June
by Totengraber on Jun.10, 2009, under Infinity, Miniatures
Looks like the folks over at Corvus Belli are on top of things with their next releases for Infinity:
My chosen army gets some coolness with these models. While they look kinda generic in relation to the army, there’s enough variation to be able to pick them out. I’m not a particular fan of the long hair thing, so I will likely either leave this piece off or shorten it a bit.
Infinity – 300 Points Nomads vs. Haqqislam
by admin on Dec.10, 2008, under Infinity, Miniatures
Joel and I played Infinity almost a week ago on Thursday. We were going to be playing with the new 2nd edition rules, so I tried to vary my army up a little bit to test out some of the changes. Joel had also warned me he’d likely be using a TAG. I’ve only ever played against one once (Jim’s Armored Cavalry) and it gave me fits. So, I tried using a lot of AP weapons and a hacker to try out some hacking.
My army:
- Janissaire Lieutenant
- Janissaire w/HMG
- Tuareg Doctor
- Djanbazan w/HMG
- Nafftun w/Light Flamethrower x2
- Ragik Hacker
- Hassassin Fiday w/AP CCW
- Kum Biker w/AP CCW x2
His army (I don’t know the Nomad army very well, so these are guesses):
- Szalamandra
- Securitate
- Aguacil w/HMG
- Aguacil Forward Observer
- Aguacil x2
- Meteor Remote
- Zoe & Pi Well
- Intruder
Once we laid out terrain and chose sides, we rolled for deployment. I deployed first placing the Tuareg doctor toward the center of the board in hopes of being able to rescue some folks once they had moved forward. The Lieutenant was deployed on top of a short building, but just far enough away from cover to not benefit from it. Fiday got deployed just outside his deployment zone in some pretty good cover. Everyone else was pretty much out of LoS.
This game went pretty quick. In round 1 he killed my Lieutenant (bad placement) and one of my Nafftuns. In my round 1 I took out the Aguacil with HMG and some other lackeys with the Fiday. Of course, the next round he got taken out himself. Later on I managed toPossess his TAG, but not really cause much damage with it, not to mention we did the BTS roll incorrectly. In the end, I conceded due to losses.
TAGs are a real pain and if you’re not properly prepared for them, can really ruin your day. It was still fun game, though.
Infinity 300 Points – Haqqislam vs. Combined Army
by admin on Nov.25, 2008, under Infinity, Miniatures
Brian and I scheduled an Infinity game for last Thursday over at Games To Die For. We decided on 300 points and we’d use the new 2nd edition rules. I decided to play the following list:
- Khawarij (Lieutenant)
- Djanbazan w/ HMG
- Janissaire w/AP Rifle
- Janissaire w/HMG
- Tuareg (Doctor)
- Nafftun
- Hassassin Fiday w/EXP CCW
- Ghulam x2
I think his list went something like this:
- Charontid (Lieutenant)
- Gaki
- Daturazi Witch-Soldiers x2
- T-Drone
- Morat (Hacker)
- Morat (Forward Observer) x3
- Shrouded (Forward Observer)
(I know that’s short on points, but I didn’t see his whole army)
so we set up the terrain and rolled off for deployment. This rule had changed in the new edition. Now it’s a WIP Face-to-Face roll and the winner chooses to either deploy first or to go first much like Warmachine/Hordes. He won the roll since my Lieutenant failed his F2F roll.
The game really didn’t go very long for one 81 point reason: Charontid with his Plasma Rifle. I made the mistake of putting three of my guys behind a single piece of terrain, but leaving one of them within LoS of the Charontid. He fires and hits all three guys with his blast template. Two of them survived (Ghulam and Janissaire), but the Khawarij died a quick death. I nominated my Fiday as the Lieutenant after that, who in Brian’s next turn was toasted by the Plasma Rifle again. We called the game there. Actually, to be honest, I called the game at that point. I would be losing at least one figure a turn if things kept going this way. The only shining moment was the Fiday shooting the Gaki from far enough away that the blast from the self destruct didn’t affect him.
It’s been so long since we played Infinity and with the new rules, I think we could enjoy it again. I look forward to throwing down once more and maybe I could play better next time.
Miniatures: Painting: Infinity: Haqqislam Starter Pics
by Totengraber on Jul.12, 2007, under Miniatures, Painting
Here are the pics I have for the Haqqislam starter I finished. All I have at the moment is a group shot. There are two different pictures here with different flash settings and such to try and get a better picture. Unfortunately, I borrowed the camera to do these and have since returned it, so I can’t get better pics right now.
Perhaps later I’ll take more individual pictures. I’m pretty proud of them.

They are finally finished. I’ll hopefully get some good pics of them in the next week or so. Painting has begun on the PanOceania and priming has been done on Bretonnian characters and Pegasus Knights.
Miniatures: Painting: Infinity: Ghulam Infantry
by Totengraber on Jun.07, 2007, under Infinity, Painting
I have been working on painting the whole group, but my camera has disappointed me, so I stopped taking pictures after the Ghulam. I just have their skin, pants, part of their boots, and some armor done on these.
The paint jobs look so much better in person than they do here. The only iffy part, IMHO, is possibly that the skin is too “red”, but I still think it looks Middle-Eastern.
I guess my next “project” might be the purchase of a new camera.
Gaming: Infinity: First Game Ever
by Totengraber on Jun.01, 2007, under Infinity, Miniatures
Went over to Games To Die For to finally play some Infinity. After much goofing around and chit-chatting with the people there, Joel and I got started.
Although I had made a building to use for terrain out of foamcore, Jerry had a couple of pretty big and well-detailed pieces of suitable urban terrain for us to use.
We only used the Quick Start rules and a little bit of my memories from having read the full rules a couple of times. After winning the initiative roll, I went ahead and went first. Pretty much all of my guys moved forward on the field ducking and dodging a hail of gunfire from across the table. I know ths part took a while since it was the first time we were playing, but after just a couple of shots taken, we had the hang of the normal and the face-to-face rolls. In Joel’s first round, my Haqqislam Ghulam took out three of his fusiliers. That round, he revealed his Croc man and proceeded to kill off a couple of my guys. In the end, I had one guy left: Djanbazan while he had a Fusilier, the ORC trooper, and his Croc Man. The Djanbazan finally just jumped on top of some terrain and attempted to pump bullets into all three of his guys. He hit 2 of the three, but they made their Armour rolls and survived while the poor Djanbazan died a good death.
All in all, I think it was a really fun game and will be more fun when we use the full rules and with more tactical thinking.
Project: Infinity: Haqqislam Starters Pt. 2
by Totengraber on May.19, 2007, under Infinity, Miniatures, Painting
I’m trying a new technique with the Infinity figures. Still not sure how well it’s going to work. Basically, after assembling and priming white, i glazed them with a wash of VMC Sepia Ink, Golden Glaze Medium, and water (2:4:3). They are darker than I wanted because I tried it first with just water and Sepia Ink.
Project: Infinity: Haqqislam and PanOceania Starters Pt. 1
by Totengraber on May.14, 2007, under Infinity, Miniatures
I have the Haqqislam and Pan Oceania Starter boxes assembled, based, and primed white now. They are at least playable.
Next on the Infinity agenda is building some, well, b
uildings. I plan on acquiring some foamcore and some Masonite boards of about 2′ x 2′. The buildings might have some damage, but I hope to have full buildings and not just parts and calling them “ruined”.
Sorry for the blurry pics. I forgot to turn on the Macro on the camera.
